IGNOU Regional Center Karnal was established in the year 1991 having its purview over the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Haryana. Jurisdiction of Regional Center Karnal has been redefined time to time during past years. At present Regional Centre Karnal covers the whole State of Haryana except the areas of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mewat, Palwal, Ambala and Panchkula. The reduced geographical area of jurisdiction has increased the scope of catering need of people of the remotest corner under its purview. Regional Center Karnal started with 09 study centers (LSCs) in 1991 & presently 30 active LSCs are under its jurisdiction and now acting as nodal centre for 15 districts of Haryana.
