Dr Amit Kumar Jain

Regional Director

Dr. Amit Kumar Jain has more than 17 years of vast experience in teaching, research and administration.Presently, Dr. Jain is working as Regional Director at IGNOU RC Karnal, Haryana. He joined IGNOU as Assistant Regional Director at the IGNOU Regional Centre, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in 2011. Prior to this, he has served as Assistant Professor in Microbiology, J.V. College, Baraut, Uttar Pradesh. He was awarded Ph.D and D.Sc. Degree (Botany) from CCS University, Meerut. He has qualified ICAR-NET in plant physiology & biochemistry. He has also acquired the degrees of B.Ed, MA (Edu), MA in Distance Education (MADE), PG Diplomas, i.e., PGDNBT, PGDDE, PGDESD, PGDRD, PGDIPR, PGDEMA, PGDHE and PGDHRM through ODL Mode. Dr. Jain is a Fellow of International and National rank Academic societies/bodies, i.e., the Linnean Society of London (UK), Society of Innovative Educationalist & Scientific Research Professional (FSIESRP), Fellow of the Botanical Society (FBS), India, Fellow of the Academy of Plant Sciences (FAPS), Indian Academy of Environmental Science (FAES), Eurasian Academy of Environmental Sciences (FEAES), India, as well as a Life member of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), Kolkata, and the Centre of Education Growth and Research (CEGR), New Delhi. He has earned various international and national awards. Dr. Jain has published 09 books, more than 70 research articles in national and international journals, and published 11 book chapters edited by various authors. Dr. Jain has participated in a large number of national and international seminars, conferences, workshops, training and added programmes. He is the editorial board member of various journals and committees of academic bodies of other reputed organisations.
